Co-organisation of the field design trip for CAS#2 ETH DRRS in Regenerative Systems: Beyond Systems Thinking for for ETH Zurich, Systemic Design Labs, MAS executive programme in Regenerative Systems, Zurich, Switzerland and a partnering living systems lab MonViso Institute, Ostana, Italy
Oslo-Hemsedal-Trondheim, June 2024, Norway
Atlantic puffin (Fratercula arctica), a fascinating seabird found along the coasts of Norway - the icon of CAS#2 field design trip embodying exceptional adaptability and resilience. Puffins are distinctive divers and can plunge to depths of 50–60 meters in search of food, using their wings to "fly" underwater. When not breeding, puffins spend most of their lives alone at sea, floating on the open Atlantic Ocean, well-adapted to this lifestyle, with waterproof feathers and the ability to drink seawater. The life of puffins is still mysterious, as much of their behaviour occurs far from human observation.
